August blog 1.0: What am I doing differently this year?

Setting clear expectations for students' daily grade

1. Preparation (20 points) - come to class on time, in dress code, bring composition notebook + writing utensil
2. Vamos (10 points) - completed Hacer Ahora (Bell Ringer) + wrote down objective in first 7 minutes
3. Notes (40 points) - took all notes, participated, completed all classwork without cheating
4. Professionalism (30 points) - Respect/No talking, no profanity, no electronic devices, keeping your head up

So there are 100 possible points to gain each day students enter my room. If they are tardy, they loose all professionalism points. If they violate any of the professionalism statutes, they loose all professionalism points. If they don't do their bell ringer, they loose all vamos points.
